West Coast Swing 2017 Routine

  • Basic West Coast Swing Walk Action
  • Step - Hip - Swing
  • Forward AND backward (shoulder check!)

(Note that man starts back with left foot while lady starts forward right foot)
 
Week 2:

Man: Left back - back - tap - forward - triple step.
Lady: Right forward - forward - tap - back - back triple step.
Underarm Turn1 2 3&4 5&6
Man: Left back - forward - turning forward lock (chasing lady) - triple step.
Lady: Right forward - forward - turning forward lock step - back triple step.
 
Week 3:
Sugar Push overturned (lock triple step)1 2 3 4 5&6
Man: Left back - back - tap - step (lead: left hand pushing down) - triple step. (then lead: left hand back up to normal)
Lady: Right forward - forward - tap - step (spiral on lead) - lock triple step away (spiral back to face partner)
 
Week 4:
Left side pass (regular)1 2 3&4 5&6
Man: Left back - forward (turning to left) - tap (no and) step (chasing lady) - triple step.
Lady: Right forward - forward - turning forward lock step - back triple step (same as Underarm Turn).
 
Week 5:
Sugar Push to 2-hand hold (see Week 2, but keep 2-hand hold)1 2 3 4 5&6

Man: Left back - forward (turning to Right, raise left arm leading lady straight forward)
- turning lock (like underarm turn - lowering left arm in front of lady, pulling her back)
- rondee (releasing right hand) - triple step.
Lady: Right forward - forward - forward triple step - left back - back - back triple step (no turn)

Man: Left back - forward (turning to Right, turn lady into closed hold)
